Ear Candling

Ear candling is an ancient, complementary therapy designed to help treat conditions associated with the ear, nose and throat.  It has been found to be very effective in the treatment of headaches, earache, tinnitus, sinus, stress, migraine, snoring, nasal congestion, colds and flu.

It is a technique that involves placing a hollow candle made of unbleached cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and/or herbs, into the ear canal.   The ear candle is lit and the non-burning end is placed gently into the outer ear passage and held there by the therapist.

As the candle burns it creates a very gentle vibration into the ear canal which helps to facilitate deep relaxation in addition to the relief of symptoms.

As the ear, nose and throat are all connected, this helps to regulate and balance pressure in the ears as well as the entire respiratory tract.  It can however assist in the loosening of compacted wax which can drain from the ears in the days following a course of treatments.

When the candles are completed, the therapist will carry out a very gentle facial massage to stimulate the sinus points on the face. This further helps to relieve sinus pressure and helps to drain any build- up of fluid around the face.

Note. Ear candling does not remove wax from the ear.
