The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. In times of extreme stress or when you feel like you are “going around in circles” and cannot think straight, reiki can help to bring you back to yourself and help you to catch your breath again
Reiki helps to harmonise and realign the energy centers of the body. It is a deeply relaxing and peaceful treatment leaving you feeling safe, secure and at peace inside. It can be helpful either during or following an illness to help restore balance and to help strengthen the immune system.
Reiki is carried out with the person laying the plinth/bench fully clothed; only shoes need to be removed. A light blanket placed over them for comfort. The therapist uses very light touch and will explain all before the session commences so that the client is kept fully informed.
